So I am attempting to make entries in my ContentBuilder views editable by the users that created the submissions. I have everything connected to the point that users can see their own entries in a view and have the edit button that takes them to the form to edit the entry.

The problem is that the form always loads empty, failing to auto-fill from the record.
I assume that this would be a common desire for anyone wanting to allow editing, so is there a setting that I am missing or a simple solution? Unfortunately, I am not allowed to show screens of the frontend.

Thank you for any help.

Hi,

please go to Extensions->Plugins->and disable email cloaking.

Multiple customer had the same problem, and this solved it.

Let me know if you need more help

So, I found the "Content - Email Cloaking" plugin, which is hopefully the one you are referring to, but disabling the plugin doesn't seem to have any effect. I had also discovered this solution on the forums, but unless I am missing something I think my issue is different.

Is there anything else I might be able to try?

Thank you for your time!

Sorry for leaving this to languish. Had to suddenly move house.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to give anyone access at this time. I would welcome any other suggestions as I get back to trying to solve this issue.

Thank you.

I think I have discovered the culprit when running my page through a debugger. The edit page seems to be loading multiple copies of jQuery and using the wrong copy, causing : a(...).sortable is not a function error. After installing jQuery Easy and updating jQuery and Migrate to their newest, not-Joomla-included, versions the page now pulls values from the records!

Thanks, glad this is solved! I hope this might help others that encounter this issue as well.

For reference, my default jQuery was 1.12.4, and Migrate 1.4.1. Updating to jQuery 3.6.0 and Migrate 3.3.2 ended up being my solution.
