psico created the topic: Select list menú

Good afternoon,

I would like to know if you have any joomla form with the menu functionality. Basically two selection lists that work as a menu and submenu and a button that redirects you to the section of the web that you have selected in the two previous boxes.

I leave you an example so that you understand what I mean. Here.

If possible, you would be interested in purchasing such a form.
Regards, and thank you very much.

Hi,

are you more interested in the design or the functionality?
functionality you can achieve with a bit of custom javascript (BF has well defined places to extend, no hacking.

As for the design, you might need to create your own css as the standard css and themes that are shipping with BF don't look exactly like that.

Regards,
Markus

Hello,
Thanks for your reply! I'm entirely interested in functionality rather than design. I am aware that the design must be by my own custom css.

But I would like to know how can I have two selection lists and a button that works as a menu.
Thank you,
Regards.

Hi,

here is a (quite sophisticated) example that you can have a look at using the free version of BreezingForms.

crosstec.org/en/forums/3-breezingforms-f...mboboxes.html#128913

It basically operates on database tables (more secure and dynamic).

There can also be done a "light version", that doesn't operate on db tables but just some javascript, but people usually this kind of dependent dropdown lists (which you can also call "menus").

Regards,
Markus

Hello,

Yes, what I want to do is what you show in the example, but I would like the first dropdown to show a joomla menu and the second one the submenus of the first one you have selected. And that with a button you end up being redirected to the selected section.

I don't know if it is possible, if you can do it I can buy it or whatever if necessary.

Hi,

sounds possible in principle. If you mean menu items and their sub-menu items, it would mean to make some ajax calls and request the actual location from the database.

Is this always like 2 dimensional or should there be more dropdowns popping in the deeper one gets into the menu structure?

Also, is there anything supposed to happen when picking menu items? (like redirects or something like that).

Regards,
Markus
