Hi,
Is this workaround still necessary please? I can't find a control in breezingforms to make my text area read only, but I can also see this problem was raised and acknowledged several years ago?

Thanks,
Keith

Hi,

Actually I also need some help with this workaround please? I have tried several variants of code framework ending up with this based on section 6.3 of the Breezingforms manual, but it does not seem to work? Please can you tell me what I am doing wrong?
Thanks,
Keith

function ff_Description_init()
{
ff_getElementByName("Description").readOnly = true;
} // ff_Description_init

Hello RiskCovered,

yes - you still need this workaround. Have you activated the HTML mode of the textarea? Which Joomla! and BreezingForms version do you use?

regards
Chris

Hi Chris,
Thanks, it works now. FYI its BreezingForms 1.8.5 and Joomla 3.3.

Thanks,
Keith

I manage to do this but when the user clic on the field and not when the form is fully loaded. This is what I did:
  1. Components -> Breezing forms -> Manage Scripts
  2. New -> Type: Element Action -> Code:
    function ff_disabled_element(element, action)
    {
    if(!element.readOnly){
    element.readOnly = true;
    }
    }
  3. Components -> Manage Forms -> Form -> Text-area field -> Advance Tab -> Actionscript -> Library; Actions: Click; Script: ff_disabled_element (Created on previous step)
  4. Finally, try it

How can I do this but without the user clic, just when the form is fully loaded?
