This issue is mentioned somewhere in a previous post, but I can not find that post. It really needs to have its own thread anyways, so I'm starting this one.

I have 12+ forms created, each with conditional fields that rely on element ID's for the conditional init scripts. Many of my forms have 40+ elements with conditional statements.

I copy forms to reuse for new forms, this saves a huge amount of time when you have multiple forms that use the same sections and fields.

When I copied a form to reuse it as a new form, the copy process automatically incremented all element ID's in the original form, thus, breaking the original form. Causing me to have to go back through all of those conditional field inits and change the element ID's. This took a huge amount of time, but more importantly, the copy process should be changing the element ID's in the form copy and not the original form.

Tihana, you were going to fix this and get back to me. I'm ready to copy all of my forms because I need to reuse them, but can't go through that nightmare again....any status on fixing this issue?

Please help.

Thank you for your awesome help!

Hi,

sorry to keep you waiting but I am really mega crowded. I will try to check this soon.
I know that original ID is set on copied form, and ID of original is changed when someone make a copy.

Please give me some time for this

Again, if there is no answer of mine, please remind me

Thanks for understanding

Regards,
Tihana

Hello Tihana,

I understand.

But just to note this post so if fixing takes a long time and I forget.

Exporting a form and then importing it does just fine and nothing in the original form is changed. But you have to be careful because the export keeps the forms original name, but on import, it does get a new ID. So after import, you'll have 2 forms named the same but different ID's.

Hello Tihana,

I hope you are well...it's been a minute since you've heard from me ;o)

It's a couple of months since I brought this issue to your attention and I'm hoping that it has been corrected.

There are many forms that I need to copy, but I do not want the original forms to break due to the element ID's incrementing in the original form instead of in the copied form.

Please tell me this has been fixed and that I can proceed with copying my forms.

Thanks a bunches for your help.
