At www.magnetfeldtherapie-fuer-pferde.de/ I display the print icon for print functionality.

Unfortunately using this function results in 404 not found!
The above-given home page calls www.magnetfeldtherapie-fuer-pferde.de/8-...pl=component&print=1, other sub pages like

www.magnetfeldtherapie-fuer-pferde.de/pr...pl=component&print=1

fail as well.

I have no idea, whether it is a Joomla core or a template problem. Googling didn't help so far.

Any idea?

I've done some test, and indeed it doesn't work. I mean, it does work when SEF is disabled, but I'm guessing that's not an option. However, the print function doesn't work even with Beez3 or protostar if SEF is enabled.
Then I've done some Googling and apparently, Joomla rewrites SEF url's only if they look like href="index.php?....".

That brings me to the conclusion that this is not something template related, rather Joomla, but I'll keep digging and get back to you. This is just a preliminary post.

upon some further testing, I got it working if I set Use URL rewriting to NO.

The only downside is that you'll have index.php in the URL now, but it can also be removed by rewriting your .htaccess a bit. There should be a ton of resources on the internet for it.
