Ralph.Buechle created the topic: Pull value list in custom field of article

Hi I'd like to get the value from a custom field (list of dates) that belongs to the article, from where the form was being submitted.

I read through CAPTURE URL THE FORM WAS SUBMITTED FROM and AUTO-POPULATE A SELECT LIST FROM DATABASE TABLE. so somehow it should be possible, but I don't know too much about php coding.

I would need a code like:

$this->execPieceByName('ff_InitLib'); //Include BreezingForms Library
$db = JFactory::getDBO();//Get Database Object

//Create your own query here
$db->setQuery('Select custom_field From article where id=1234 ');

so I would need to get 1234 from article before...

something like (?):

$page_id = $_SERVER["page_id"];
$this->execPieceByName('ff_InitLib');
$db->setQuery('Select custom_field From article where id=page_id ');
$result = $db->loadColumn()

Can anyone help me on that?

I got this far now

$this->execPieceByName('ff_InitLib'); //Include BreezingForms Library

$articleID = htmlentities(JRequest::getVar('id'));
ff_setValue('articleID', $articleID);

$db = JFactory::getDBO();//Get Database Object

//Create your own query here
$db->setQuery('Select value From njaqd_fields_values where item_id=$articleID AND field_id=4 ');

$result = $db->loadColumn(); //load the result from the query
$test = "";
for ($i = 0; $i < count($result); $i++)
{
$test .= "0;".$result[$i].";".$result[$i]."\n";
}

function ff_setSelectList($name, $value)
{
global $ff_processor;
for ($r = 0; $r < $ff_processor->rowcount; $r++)
{
$row =& $ff_processor->rows[$r];
if ($row->name==$name)
$row->data2 = $value;
unset($row);
} // for
} // ff_setSelectList

ff_setSelectList('select1', $test);

My problem seems to be that:

$db->setQuery('Select value From njaqd_fields_values where item_id=$articleID AND field_id=4 ');

Has anyone input for that?
