Hi

I've just started with ContentBuilder, so novice question (possibly).

a) I've created a registration form with lots of non-standard fields.
b) I've set up the appropriate fields to be used as the Joomla standard registration fields
c) Users can register successfully.

However...
1) When they look at their ContentBuilder profile, all the "non-standard" fields are populated correctly in the DataStorage, but the form fields that map to Joomla registration fields are empty.
2) When they look at the Joomla registration fields, they are populated correctly.

When the user edits their ContentBuilder profile (and re-types, or changes) the mapped standard fields, the Joomla profile is changed correctly, but the DataStorage fields are not populated.

This means that users must re-submit their standard Joomla fields whenever they change their profile.

It looks like ContentBuilder is correctly copying the equivalent fields to the Joomla Profile, but forgetting to copy them to the DataStorage.

I'm using Joomla 3.2.1 and ContentBuilder 1.0

Any ideas?

Hello,

I just created a registration and a profile view from scratch but could not reproduce your description.

Might t be possible to test the registration and profile on your site?
Regards,
Stefan

Hi

Thanks for your help. After some perseverance I've managed to make it work.

I think a lot of my difficulty was not fully understanding how ContentBuilder works, but I also had another profile tool installed (but not used) that may have been causing a problem.

Having:
1) removed the other tool
2) set the submission limit to 1
3) removed legacy articles that may have been confusing CB
4) cleared out the user base, and started from scratch
5) set the CB article title to a unique field (i.e. Username)

...I've managed to make it work, so very happy now.

The novice "learning" is that CB creates articles for each user, with fields that the user edits using ContentBuilder. When ContentBuilder sees the user update a field that matches a profile field, it updates the profile. There can only be one article for each user, otherwise CB might update the wrong article.

It is obvious, NOW!!! :cheer:

Now I have to get to grip with "Views", but at least I know that I can make it work, so should be relatively simple.

Thanks again

Stuart
