Hi,
I have bult a data source and a view. I would like to be able to open the view for edit in my custom front end. I have created a link using JRoute to open the details with the right form and again later wit the right record. I am stuck on two things.
1) In the form link I have passed a parameter &survivorship_id=<value>. I want to be able to take that value and insert into the specific field in the view. I tried using the wrap code item and editable prepare usig the JRequest::getVar('survivorship_id');
I think this is the right approach-maybe just the wrong syntax.

Please help.

Hi,

editable prepare would be ok if you don't intend to use article creation, since the code will be only executed once. However, it sounds that is not the case here, just wanted to let you know.

How does your editable prepare code look like?

Regards,
Markus
