Hi there,

Would it be possible to define height and width of data entry fields in the section 'Editable Prepare' of ContentBuilder.

When editing a record I have a kind of 100% width field if the field type is textarea. Would it be possible to impact the size of the fields of the types text and select to enlarge those fields to the same dimension I have with the textareas (in the 'Editable Prepare' section)?

Thanks for any hint.
Heinz

PS
For the width I found a work around to change the values within the template.css but individual height (type select) should be individually depending on the number of options.

Hi,

You could echo some style like this:
echo '
<style>
</style>
';

or use js in a very similar way.

Please let us know if this works out for you.

Thank you for your help. I guess I was in another movie. Most of my requirements I could fulfill using the existing parameters in the Views selecting the field type in the column Editable. But only most!

The remaining open question:
How to influence the height of a select field - I would show all selectable items out of this select-list (not to need the scrollbar). There is only the field "Length:" available in the Options tab, but not another one with "Height:".

And another small question:
There is only a "Checkbox Group" available but not a "Checkbox" (for a checked / not checked result). Workaround would be to have a checkbox group with yes and no?

Thank you vor your help!
Heinz

Hi,

1. Maybe you could create a select element with a Size property like this:
<select size="4">
  <option value="volvo">Volvo</option>
  <option value="saab">Saab</option>
  <option value="opel">Opel</option>
  <option value="audi">Audi</option>
</select>
2. Yes you can create a checkbox group with a yes and no option but then you would need to create a script which unchecks one when another is checked.
A better way to solve this would be to use a radio group, OR a checkbox which would be yes if checked and no if unchecked.

Thank you, Lovre.

1. I guess that using the size would be the solution. But I have no clue where to influence the select script when using ContentBuilder View.
a) Should it be within 'Editable Template'?

<tr class="row0">
<td class="key" valign="top" width="20%">{kategorie:label}</td>
<td>{kategorie:item}</td>
</tr>

b) Or should it be within 'Editable Prepare'?
c) Or is there a way within 'View' on the item level scripts - Init (JS) or Action (PHP)?

2. If I try to use checkbox (group) with only one option or radio (group) with only on option I'm getting the error message "ELEMENT IS NOT A GROUP" and I cannot find a way to build only one checkbox for yes (checked) or no (unchecked). Is it really only possible to build two options, one with yes and one with no.

Sorry, but I have no idea how to solve those issues.

Regards,
Heinz

Hi,

1. you can use the init (JS) and select the dropdown with jquery and set the size like this:
jQuery( "#IdOfTheSelect" ).attr( "size", "22" );
but i'm not sure you need exactly this, as your example code shows a table, if this doesn't work let us know.

2. please use a radio group for this.
