Hi,

please don't mind me asking... You are successfully changing the rows sort order in the listview by applying wrap code to the field that the list is ordered by?

No, it isn't enough. You have to replace the date from 06.06.2013 (dd.mm.YYYY) to 06.06 (mm.dd) in the database and then apply the code. The sort is done on the field content and then reformatted as we need.

The code in Item Wrap Code must be updated accordingly, replacing the slash with the dot:
<?php $value = substr($value,3,2) . '.' . substr($value,0,2); ?>

Please refer to my previous post #194208 too.

HTH,
Venexian

Hi,

Ok, all is understood now, if you are actually changing the DB value then it should work yes. Thank you very much for sharing your solutions with the community.

Hello,
thanks for your help.
Unfortunately, I can not change the database field because I also need the year (knowing the age).
Is there no solution to sorting by the month and then by the day?
Or can I create another field in which the data is automatically generated from the date of birth in the required way (month. day.)?

Greetings
Ralf

Hello,
the easiest solution is to create a new field and manually add the date of birth (mm.dd). I don't think that is possible to automate the process without a custom script.

Hi,
try to change the date format in the DB to mm.dd.YYYY and adjust the code in Item Wrap Code. That should solve your problem.

Hi all,

the best way of doing this would be creating a new field that would be populated with the mm.dd date value, you can do this in a few ways. I would tackle this by creating an onchange script for the field "Full Date" which would populate the newly created "Birthday Date" field with the substringed/formatted date value.

No need for changing the date format in the DB and the item wrap code if you do it with an additional field such as described above.

If you need any help with this let us know.
