For some reason, the only way I can edit/add/delete a record is if I enable the permissions on public.

I have users set as super administrators.
I have user permissions set in the CB User permissions.

The only way it will let a user do anything is if Public is checked off, or everything is forced and then public can access it.

Hi,

if you want any registered user to add new entries for that view, you would remove all "force permissions on owner" checkmarks and use the group permissions instead. Then disable the edit permission for that group.

To let the user edit his very own entries, I usually create a separate view for this that he can access through a menu item for registered users.

Copy the main view (let's call it public view) and create a private view.
There you actually check "list own only" and use the "force permissions on owner" permissions.

This has the effect that the user will only see his own entries and can only update these and you have public and private lists separate from each other.

Regards,
Markus

I got it...

I thought if the user was logged in to the back end and browsed to the front end, it was already logged in. I guess I was wrong!

Hi,

Joomla has an option in the settings to share the session between fron- and backend. In case you need it.

I guess I missed that option somewhere along the way.

I had everything working fine, and all of a sudden I can not change the state.
I have the edit state box checked but no go! I hadn't touched it and it was working yesterday!
