Hello

I‘m new to Content Builder and Breezing Forms. Looked through your videos and docu, but haven‘t found what I‘m looking for.

I have two tables, one has a list of clubs with location data, the second one contains the presidents and their contact data for each club.

Is there a way of connecting these (join) in Content Builder? Both tables are connected via the club id.
The goal is to have a list with the club names and if I click on the link, to see the detailed data from the president.

Thank you

Roger

Hi,

if you need to combine data from two tables in one CB view, you can have a SQL query that make a joint with your 2 tables and put result in a third one that would be the data storage for your view.

Hi Tihana

Thank you for your answer. Sorry to ask again. Where do I have to do the SQL Query? In Content Builder? Can you show me where and how?

Regards

Roger

A bit more detailed:

ContentBuilder by default supports one table, only.

If you need to combine 2 tables, you have 2 options:

1) Create a view within your database that merges the 2 tables and then use that view as datastorage in CB => Data Storages

2) or if 1) is somehow not possible (ex. view creation for databases aren't possible in your hosting environment), writing a specalized data storage container that binds the 2 together.

I assume 1) is way easier as it requires you to use one query (e.g. with phpmyadmin) and then you can use that view like a table, thus use it with CB.

Example:

stackoverflow.com/questions/12352048/mys...w-joining-two-tables

Combining 2 BreezingForms forms or BreezingForms and a separate db table with this is unfortunately not possible and would require option 2).

Markus

In the meantime I got a little further. Created new tables and imported my data within Content Builder. This worked.

I then created a new view in the database using the two new Content builder created tables. This view I mangaged to get this inside Content Builder. The data is shown ok, but if I click on one of the links I get an error 404, item not found in the Joomla backend.
