Dragonrider created the topic: Using Closing Date as publishing expiry date?

I have used Content Builder to create a volunteering site where local organisations can submit their voluntary positions in a search for volunteers.

One field is for the closing date for any applications to be made by. Is there any way that this date could be used as the date to stop publishing the article automatically?

If anyone has managed this, any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Hello,

That is not a native ContentBuilder functionality and would require a custom solution that is put of scope of our support.

Only thing that I could suggest is to take a look at this topic crosstec.org/en/forums/37-contentbuilder...-update.html?start=0 since it might help you get an idea on how to try to achieve what you want.

Regards,

Yes, I kinda thought that might be the case, but was hoping someone with more knowledge might have done it before. Unfortunately the link in the thread you refer to which suggests there could be help, is invalid. But thank you anyway.

Hello again,

I am not sure why you can't open the topic, but here is a tip that you might find helpful.

The ContentBuilder databse table #_contentbuilder_records holds this info, these are the two columns: Publish_down and publish_up, so we should set those when we are saving the record. So we would go to the element in cb> editable> Scripts> PHP action and there we can get the actual record_id of the current record that we are saving with $record_id, now with this info we can write a SQL command which would populate this field with wanted value.
