Hi

Hope someone can help

Would it be possible to change the function of the 'Submit' button (at the bottom of the form) so that;

1/. It changes the document state within ContentBuilder
2/. Sets the fileds to read only
3/. Saves the document as normal

If so a few pointers on how to would be very gratefully accepted

A final part to this question would then be would it be possible to have a tick box to set the fields back to editable?

many thanx for the support so far

Hello,

i am not sure about you want to do, but i can try to answer your questions:

1. I dont understand about "document". I supose you are using a view as a Create item menu. This option works as a form, it means it changes nothing: it enter new records.

2. The access to your views and records can be made on the Permissions tab.

3. Clicking on Submit, your view fields will be recorded/saved, of course.

sorry - i will try and explain better

is it possible to make the form fields go readonly after somone presses the submit button

so that someone that can normally edit the fields cant until it has been reviewed

once it has been reviewed then the tick box would remove the readonly status if anything needed to be edited by the author.

If nothing needed changing then the fields would stay readonly

What I am trying to achieve is to stop people making unauthorised changes

Bit more of an explanation

when the form is completed and the submit button is pressed can you

1/. Change the change the list state to the second state
(I have set three states Approved, Pending, Rejected)

2/. Make the fields ReadOnly so that the document can not be changed (edited)

3/. If the list state is changed to Rejected can the form fields then go back to read/write so that the author can make any changes required.

The idea being that of the three states (Approved, Pending, Rejected) only rejected forms can be edited.

This is so that unauthorised changes can not be made.

many thanks
