Hi All

Just a quick question - is it possible to create a form that will generate a QR code upon submission to display to the user?

Essentially we are trying to create a QR Code Generator to be placed on the front end of the site that we can track the use of - what data has been entered etc?

Thanks!

Hi,

do you already have an API I could use to implement this?

Currently using Google Charts API.

Essentially, at the moment I am using a form comprising of one user input (text field), and two hidden inputs, like so:

"url1" (HIDDEN) Value: <img src=" chart.apis.google.com/chart?cht=qr&chs=300x300&chl=

"content" (User Input) Value: valuetest

"url2" (HIDDEN: Value: " width="300" height="300">

Page 2 of the form then has a summary which is set to calcuate: value = bfField("url1") + bfField("url2") + bfField("url2")

At the moment it is working, and will display a QR code generated from what the user has input in the "content" field. HOWEVER, it is before the form has been submitted, as it is a summary section on the second page, and as such what the user has inputted does not log to database or send e-mail confirmation.

We want the data to be submitted before the QR code is seen, i.e. after the form is submitted.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

We may create a form that will generate a QR code after each submission. There are many applications providing this service, some of the most important are through Android, Java, iPhone and through many others. I mostly uses the Java programming for the purpose. This generation of QR codes in Java is not only easy, but also straight forward. Integrating this functionality with any existing Java based app is just a piece of work.

Try to create qr code in Crystal Report .

Select "ADO.NET" in "Create New Connection" when Crystal Reports wizard dialogue pops up;
Browse and find "CustomerDataSet.xsd" in your downloaded sample dataset package (or any other dataset of your own), then click "Finish";
Click on the Tables node to expand;
Drag and drop the table name to the window titled Tables In Report, and click "Next";
To display fields on the report, select them at the Field tab, and click "Finish";
Modify the form so that it can preview and print the report;

I am considering to buy a QR Code barcode generator to generate barcodes in Crystal Report . But I found many people are using that barcod generator and said it is good to use. Have you used the link you provided? Is that good?
