Please see numbered images
1 location = blank when form opens
2 location = home (nothing happens)
3 location changes to Show (conditional text element opens and values entered)
4 location changes back to home (conditional text element closes)

All good up to this point, but
5 Location changes back to Show (conditional text element reopens, proving previous values entered in point 3 are still there)

Problem is that if user submits at point 4, the values in point 3 are saved to the DB. But they shouldn't be => they are inappropriate when value = home

Any ideas?
Thanks

Hi,

I think what you need is a special visibility rule to set that element's value based on the visibility state as described here (it's at the bottom):

crosstec.org/en/support/online-documenta...f-conditionally.html

Example:
if element ELEMENTNAME is off set TARGETELEMENT VALUE

In your case, as I understand, you want to clear "show location" if home is selected, so I assume this should be enough:
if element SHOWLOCATION is off set SHOWLOCATION !empty

Where SHOWLOCATION is the name (not title) of the show location element.

Hope this helps!

Regards,
Markus

Hi,
I think a small error has crept into the above statement.

VALUE should not be used but as follows:
if element SHOWLOCATION is off set SHOWLOCATION !empty
Where SHOWLOCATION is the name (not title) of the show location element.
