I have seen that I can embed stuff in the description of a section, so I need to get something like this to work:

{source}
<?php

$project_id = JRequest::getVar('db_project');

?>
{/source} {plotalot id = "24" P0 =$project_id}

or

$this -> execPieceByName('ff_InitLib');
$project_id = ff_getElementByName('db_project') .value;

But this last bit gives me an error Using $this when not in object context

thanks

Hello,

Embedding graphs inside a form is not a default BreezingForms feature and is out of the scope of our support.

If you really need to have this done, I suggest that you contact our form specialist GWS DESK as they can maybe help you do what you want.
You can contact them here gws-desk.com/extensions-support/breezingforms-support .

Hi.

I think you have misunderstood my question ( I have posted a few already on this -)
let me explain again.
I have a breezingform Form on which I have a drop down value.
I need to be able to access this value either in the Description part of a section in the same form, or I need to be able to pass that variable OUTSIDE of breezing form.

Either way, I need to know how to access it. When I have tried to access the variable inside the Edit section, I get no value.
Dont worry about the embedding.. that I know how to do. Its accessing the variable thats not working for me.

thanks

Hello again,

I understand now what you wanted to achieve.

Here are instructions on how you can access the value entered in a form field in a Description section of this form.

First, go to edit the description of the wanted section where you wish to display the value. Do the editing through Tools > Source code. On the place where you want to show that value put this empty span like this:
<span id="myspan"></span>

Then, go to the Advanced properties of the form field from which you wish to pass the value to the form section.
In the Actionscript section set Type to Custom and Action to Change.
In the code area that appears below put the following code:
function ff_ELEMENTNAME_action(element, action)
{
jQuery("#myspan").text( ff_getElementByName('ELEMENTNAME').value );

} // ff_ELEMENTNAME_action
NOTE: In the code above replace ELEMENTNAME with the name of that field from which you are copying the value.

Let me know whether you have managed to set this for your form.

Regards,

Mihaela
