LukeDouglas created the topic: PayPal submit issue on calculated PayPalSelect field

I have a working form in calculating a field with the name 'PayPalSelect'. However, when the PayPal button is clicked, it does not go to PayPal.

There are 6 different Fee fields with a drop-down selection and calculations made to a Total Registration fee field with the name 'PayPalSelect'. Calculations are correct.

Here is one of the fee fields:

Here is the calculated field - Properties tab:

Here is the calculated field - Advanced tab:

Here is the PayPal button - Properties tab:

Here is the PayPal button - Advanced tab:

FYI, I tried to insert the images but each time I entered the fields and clicked 'Add', it submitted the post. :(

Any assistance would be appreciated!

Hello,

Since you wish to collect the amount form your form, please follow instructions form here crosstec.org/en/support/online-documenta...l-donation-form.html how to get the PayPal button working. Only difference is that instead of "donationAmount" element, you will use the "PayPalSelect" field.

As you will see in the article linked, you haven't selected the right script for your case.

Let me know whether you have managed to get it working for your form.
If you have more questions, feel free to ask.

Regards,

Mihaela

I made the changes as per the PayPal instruction page link, putting the PayPal select and submit buttons on page two. The form submitted but when I click the PayPal submit button on the 2nd page, it does not submit.

On the custom scripting, I changed:
ff_getElementByName('bfPaymentSelect').value = 'Donation|0|' + ff_getElementByName('donationAmount').value + '|0';

to
ff_getElementByName('bfPaymentSelect').value = 'Donation|0|' + ff_getElementByName('totalregistrationfee').value + '|0';

Here is the full code:
function ff_PayPalButton_action(element, action)
{
     switch (action)
     {
          case 'click':
          ff_getElementByName('bfPaymentSelect').value = 'Donation|0|' + ff_getElementByName('totalregistrationfee').value + '|0';
          ff_validate_submit();
          break;
          default:;
     } // switch
} // ff_PayPalButton_action

The field 'totalregistrationfee' does have the proper calculated total from the 6 different fee fields.

One thing, on the PayPal instruction page, it has 'Donation|0|' but I need this to be a simple payment page. Looking at the allowable values, "_donations", could I used 'Cart|0|' so it appears as a cart?

It's weird but I tried to create a package to attach but when I click the submit, it gives me a 404 Category not found on the alabamaseedassociation.com/administrator...s/admin/download.php link after I submit the package creation.

Hello,

The submit button should be put on the thank you page, but on the first page of your form before the submit button. By clicking on the PayPal button, your form will be submitted.

Please try to change that and let me know the result.

I'm not sure why it doesn't let you create a package with the form. Can you please try again and see whether it works.

Regards,

Mihaela,

I moved the PayPalSelect and the PayPal Button to the bottom of the 1st page, I deleted the 2nd page, I unchecked the 'Last page is thank you page' and the 'Include submit button' on the form.

When I click the PayPal button, it does not submit the form nor go to the PayPal website. FYI, I did not received a submitted form via email as I have been receiving on other tests including a 'test' that I assume you submitted. In addition, on the PayPal button, I did NOT check the 'Email notifications on successful payment only'.

The Actionscript code on the button is as follows (totalregistrationfee is the field name for the calculated total).
function ff_PayPalButton_action(element, action)
{
     switch (action)
     {
          case 'click':
          ff_getElementByName('bfPaymentSelect').value = 'Donation|0|' + ff_getElementByName('totalregistrationfee').value + '|0';
          ff_validate_submit();
          break;
          default:;
     } // switch
} // ff_PayPalButton_action

In addition, I did attempt to create a package again both with Legacy mode enabled and disabled but no luck. So I reinstalled Breezing Forms again and tried to create a package. No luck! :woohoo:
