Good Evening,

I have a multi-page scheduling form that I would like to pass data into from an external URL. I currently do this with a single value (a hidden field titled "quoteid"), but now I want to pass in multiple non-hidden values which are on multiple pages throughout the form. I'm simply trying to reduce the redundancy for our customers so that any data we have already will be passed into the form.

Is it possible to pass in multiple values via URL?
If so, will it work with a multi-page form where some of the values being passed in aren't on the first page?

Hi Pedro,

Yes, that post was helpful. I wasn't able to determine if this will allow me to pass multiple values into the form, or just a single value. In my situation I want to pass in between 5-10 values to their corresponding elements. Will this method work for that many values?

HI

This linked topic seems to be offline. Is there an instruction how data can be fetched from an URL?
Thanks, MIchael

Hi,

first you have to attach the parameters to the url with which you call the form e.g:
When the form is located under the following url:
www.myDomain.com/myform

Change it to something like this:
www.myDomain.com/myform?Moduletype=TypeA

Now, copy the following code into the Before Form Piece of the form:
$this->execPieceByName('ff_InitLib');

// fetch the values from the URL
$myparam = JRequest::getVar('Moduletype');

//assign them to form elements
ff_setValue('NameOfElement', $myparam);

Change NameOfElement to the name of the element which should hold the value of the url parameter.

Regards,
Mirko
