Ok, we are getting closer.

Could you please list all 3rd party components you have installed?

Do you have any SEF extension like ACE Sef installed?

Also, very important would be a list of 3rd party plugins. I know this list can be quite huge, but maybe you can do screenshots of the list in the plugin manager.

The hint with category was very important because this is a clear sign that the routing is affected, usually this is caused by side-effects with other extensions (usually plugins).

Regards,
Markus

The only 3rd party components are:
Breezing Form, now Build 934 and DJ-ImageSlider Version 4.1.1

I did have Rapid Contact and osolCaptcha installed. They were installed after I have the problem with Captcha, but have since been uninstalled.

ACE Sef is not installed.

The only Plugin installed is Breezing forms.
I like to keep things vanilla!

Attached are the five plugin pages

Ok, I can also see no special plugin being installed.
So, now I need to do a final check if this is actually a site or a server problem:

Would it be possible for you to zip your entire website and include a full db dump using phpmyadmin? If yes, I can install it locally and test it altogether.

After that test we'd know if it makes sense to look for issues on the site itself or rather on the server-setup side.

If you could do that, it would be really great. Please send the files to: mbopp@evolutio-it.com

Markus

Markus,

As I said earlier it did work originally on my local development system. So, I dumped the database back from the live system to my development system, and it works like a charm, as it did before. I also ran the direct link to securimage_show.php and that displayed the captcha image in the browser.

So it must be something at the ISP server end.

Can you try a different php version?
It can also be the php.ini setup. Since it likely is the ISP setup, I would like to see how it acts with a vanilla php.ini setup.

The highest version of PHP I can go to is 7.1, which is what I am on. Therefore I could only g0 back to PHP 7.0. I did that, but it did not change the php.ini file. Here are the contents anyway:
; cPanel-generated php ini directives, do not edit
; Manual editing of this file may result in unexpected behavior.
; To make changes to this file, use the cPanel MultiPHP INI Editor (Home >> Software >> MultiPHP INI Editor)
; For more information, read our documentation ( go.cpanel.net/EA4ModifyINI )

extension = gd.so
allow_url_fopen = Off
allow_url_include = Off
display_errors = Off
enable_dl = Off
file_uploads = On
max_execution_time = 120
max_input_time = 60
max_input_vars = 1000
memory_limit = 128M
post_max_size = 128M
session.gc_maxlifetime = 1440
session.save_path = "/var/cpanel/php/sessions/ea-php71"
upload_max_filesize = 128M
zlib.output_compression = Off
I know that 7.2 is the next currently supported version, 7.3 would be preferred. I have asked for these versions to be made available, but nothing has happened yet.
The captcha still did not display.
Just a thought. Normally, when you make a change to ini files, you stop/start the process. That's fine locally, but how do the changes apply when the ISP has control?
I don't have SSH access yet. I am still trying to get the ISP to give me the security details.
