kenryanjr created the topic: Concatenate fields in list view

I have been using code like this in another site that works perfectly. The site I am using on is pulling the data from a data storage built in Content Builder. I use it to put three fields together in a list view.
<?php $col1036 = 'col1036' ; $value = $value . ' ' . $item->$col1036; ?><?php $col1041 = 'col1041' ; $value = $value . ' ' . $item->$col1041; ?>

I am trying on a new site that is using breezing forms data and content builder list view. It works, until you turn off "include in list". Then the two records you adding to the third don't work. Any idea what may be causing this?

In the attached images Chevrolet and 210 are being added to the year field. As you notice, the columns are there the chevrolet and 210 are there concatenated to 1954. Columns gone, chevrolet and 210 gone. But tested it with a content builder storage view and it works...Help!

Hello,

I understand the issue you are having. You are right, concatenating fields values in the listed view using the following code:
<?php $col1036 = 'col1036' ; $value = $value . ' ' . $item->$col1036; ?><?php $col1041 = 'col1041' ; $value = $value . ' ' . $item->$col1041; ?>
in the Item Wrap Code will work for view based on Data Storage regardless of whether the fields are included in the view or no.

On the opposite, that will not be the case with a view created based on a BreezingForms form. If a view is created based on BreezingForms in order for the fields to be concatenated in the list view using that code they have to be included in the list.
That reason for this is in the way that fields get their ID's when creating a form or data storage.

I've been trying to find an alternative way to do what you want and came only to a conclusion that you could add an additional field in your form which would store the concatenated values and then you would include this field in the form.

It could be a "Turned off" textarea, so the form itself would not look different since this field would be hidden on editing.

Let me know whether that solution would work for you.

Regards,

Mihaela

The best way to solve the problem is if someone wants to use Breezing forms...create the form, then create a data table in data storages based on the form and then use the integrator. That is what I did, and it works great and I still get the benefit of the Breezing Forms functionality and style. It is a little bit more time, but I go the desired result I wanted.
