muthca created the topic: _ff_traceExit...

I am running Joomla 3.9.4 with PHP 7.0.3 and BreezingForms 3.9.0.
I am getting the error php error '_ff_traceExit' (T_STRING), expecting ',' or ')' in the Before Form code.
I have seen this error in the forums but have not seen a solution. Is there one?
I had no problems prior to to the 3.9.4 Joomla update of March 12.
Has anyone else seen this problem in Joomla 3.9.4?

New Update:
I have upgraded PHP to 7.2 and still have the above problem. I have created a test form, with one section and two fields and two lines of code in the Before Form section and the problem persists.
The two fields are text areas with no specific labels and nothing set in the fields.
The two lines of code are:
$returnData = "1";
echo "Return Data: ".$returnData;
The above test failed so I removed the two lines and retested and the test form appeared with no errors.
I moved the above code to the After Form section, and the test failed with the same error message.
I don't see how the above two lines can cause the problem I am seeing. Am I missing something?
BTW
After upgrading PHP to 7.2 I am getting a warning that each() has been depreciated in admin.breezingforms.php on line 744 and in the front-end in breezingforms.php line 336. Could this be causing the problem?

3/22/19 More Testing
I have done more testing and found that an assignment statement fails as does the echo statement if I have a variable.
From the above test, I commented out the $returnData and echo statements. I then added a new echo statement echo 'Return Data:' which worked. Next I added a number to the echo, echo 'Return Data: '."1234" and this worked. I then added back the $returnData = "1" statement and received the error again. Something has it in for my assignment statements.

Hi,

I did few tests and it seems that $returnData is reserved.
If you use any other word for your variable you will see it will be printed out.

I can't find a direct refference to it inside the code but if you use any other word, concatenation works fine....

This is what I tested it with :
$returData = '1';
echo 'This is the number of whatever ' . $returData;

Rgds,
Mario

Mario,
Who would have thought that $returnedData was restricted. I figured that $return was restricted. I guess that anything with return in it is restricted.

Thanks for finding that for me. That fixed the problem.
