Hello,

I have set up a form which has an alternative reply-to email address in the mailback email options - office@mydomain. When someone replies, it comes up correctly with that 'office' email address.

However, on the mailback email that is received, it is displaying the default email address as set up in the configuration settings, i.e. joomla@mydomain.

The same is happening with admin emails. Even though I have put {Email} in the 'Alternative reply-to Email' box, when the admin emails is received it displays submitter@anotherdomain [joomla@mydomain]

I'm sure this didn't use to happen but seems to have happened since the update to build 923 a couple of days ago. [Update 26/3/17: further testing shows it's the same with build 920]

I am using modified copies of the default html.php files rename as formname_mailback.html.php and formname.html.php to send the emails.

If you want me to send the form as a package, please advise how to send it to you without making it public. Thanks.

Hey there,

if you want to hide Joomla Mail address pls read this topic: crosstec.org/en/support/online-documenta...n-i-change-that.html

If you want to receive submiter email in your Admin email jsut use shrotcode like you did.

Tome

Thanks. I have added "sender:gillian@[mydomain].co.uk;joomla@[mydomain].co.uk" where joomla@[mydomain].co.uk is the email set up in the configuration settings.

It works for the submitter email (the mailback) which has the correct display.

But... on the thank you web page, there's a message in red at the top on a semi-red background saying "Error
Invalid address: (addAnAddress to): sender:gillian@[mydomain].co.uk
"

On the Admin email, however, it's still not right. The admin email received is displaying:
from {Parent_guardian} [gillian@[mydomain].co.uk] and is sent to joomla@[mydomain].co.uk

instead of
from {Parent_guardian} [submitter email] and it should be sent to gillian@[mydomain].co.uk

In the advanced settings under Admin Emails I have this setup:

Email notification: To custom address
Email to: sender:gillian@[mydomain].co.uk;joomla@[mydomain].co.uk *
Alternative reply-to email**: {Email}
Alternative from name: {Parent_guardian}

* This has pulled in the code in the form settings "Mail recipient(s)" as set out in your instructions below. But, if I change this to just gillian@[mydomain].co.uk it also changes the code in the form settings' "Mail recipient(s)" so I'm back to square one.

** I also notice this was "Alternative from email" in build 920.

NB: all this I am testing on a test site using build 923.

Thanks

Hey there,

pls revert the email addresses to look like this:
sender:joomla@[mydomain].co.uk;gillian@[mydomain].co.uk

Instead of joomla@[mydomain].co.uk you can set any other address if you want to mask Joomla Mail address.

Also If you are using redirection upon submit in Submit Pieces use this code:
$this->execPieceByName('ff_InitLib');
header('Location: http://www.youdomain.com/thank-page');
exit;

That should remove that error.

Let me know the result.

This all works correctly for the submitter mailback email.

However, in the Admin email, although the 'to' email address is now correct, the 'from' email is showing as:
{Parent_guardian} [gillian@[mydomain].co.uk] instead of
{Parent_guardian} [submitter-email]

So it is ignoring the {Email} code in the 'Alternative reply-to' field. As I mentioned in my previous post, this field used to be named 'Alternative from email' in build 920, so appears to have changed.

The 'to' email address is now correct, though.

Indeed that does remove the error, thanks.
